In this first of, hopefully, a long series of books to come we are introduced to Theo the suitcase. Theo is introduced to a world map in school and discovers that there are 196 countries in the world (something new to this reviewer also). Theo now has got the travel bug. Theo decides on first visiting China (read how he picks China).

Off to China Theo goes, the book teaches many things about China. From the fact that China is in Asia to Chinese martial arts. While in China Theo learns about the people, how big China is, the language and the food to name a few things. The illustrations graphically shows the reader the many different things China is known for, such as the panda, lanterns and dragons. By the time the reader has read this very well written and illustrated children’s book they will feel like visiting China.

As a father raising children in a world that has become more accessible and culturally diverse I recommend this series of books for every family.

We look forward to other books in the series, hopefully the wait will not be long. We at Kidgrade would like to recommend to the author and publisher an interactive website to accompany the books. That way we can continue the adventure with Theo once we finish a book and waiting for the next.

Physician, managed care executive, educator and serial entrepreneur trying to change the world. More importantly father of three beautiful children.
