Leap Year

 

Ever wondered what a leap year actually is? A leap year has 366 days where as a “common year” only has 365. The extra day is added onto February which makes Leap Day Feb 29th every 4 years!

2012 is a leap year. That means this February has an extra day. What should you do with it? Come to Storytime! Frogs do some pretty good leaping as well, so we will include them in today's stories.

 

Create a Leap Year Time Capsule

Have your child pick and Decorate a container and fill it with things that make them happy and  are relevant to their life right now.
Then put it somewhere special to be opened next Leap Day and enjoy all the memories!
