A few weeks ago my husband and I road tripped out to Sikeston, Missouri to east at Lambert’s Cafe, home of throwed rolls. About six hours from Northwest Indiana what started out as a small cafe has turned into a Nation renowned restaurant with a huge dining area.
It was a holiday weekend when we traveled and they do not take reservations so we did wait for quite a bit. Once we got to our table it was well worth the wait. The menu is full of options of southern cooking and they have so many amazing side dishes. One of my absolute favorite parts of Lambert’s was the pass around dishes. With your meal you have the option of pass arounds. A restaurant worker walks around with a giant bowl of different side dishes and you can have as much or as little as you would like. I thought the best thing in the whole place was the pass around fried potatoes and onions, they are a must if you visit. And of course I have to talk about the rolls! They come hot from the oven and a server tosses them out to customers to catch. Not only are the rolls fun they are delicious and fluffy.
Portions are huge so you’ll want to get a doggy bag!
Open 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. or so
